3. Organize a Collection Drive

Connect with your PTA, boy/girl scout troop, youth group, networking group, church, etc. and work together to collect baby items for our baskets.

*If you decide to help collect baby items, something to keep in mind: our basket recipients are not necessarily families that are in financial need, but rather families looking for support, resources, and hope. So we don’t need essentials like diapers or wipes, but little things like children’s books or cute onesies on the clearance rack or baby headbands and bows, etc. These baskets are a celebration of each new bundle of joy. You can check out our Wish List to get an idea of what we’re looking for. But, of course, we love everyone’s creativity. We encourage individuals to donate whatever they feel most called to give.

4. Invite Us to Speak at Your School or Event

Brittany and the Brittany’s Baskets of Hope team loves to share our story with classes, youth groups, and other local community groups. We want all children—and people of all ages—to know that no matter who they are or what obstacles they may face, they can achieve whatever they dream!

*We’re taking requests for speaking engagements in the Long Island/NYC area. To book Brittany and the BBOH team to speak, please contact us: brittanysbasketsofhope@gmail.com

5. Share Your Story

Brittany’s Baskets of Hope partners with The Mighty, a story-based wellness community focused on improving the lives of people of all abilities, including those living with health challenges, mental illness, and disability.

We have a growing homepage on The Mighty where we get to share stories from our community. Want us to feature you or your Down syndrome family? Please reach out to Ashley with a few lines about how Brittany’s Baskets or Down syndrome has touched your life, and if it’s a good fit, she’ll work with you to share your story on our Mighty homepage.
